When Peter was filled with the Spirit on that first day of Pentecost, some people thought he was drunk. He wasn’t – at least not in the way they thought, but whatever it was, people noticed.
So what might we expect others to see when we live filled with the Spirit?
In Ephesians 5, Paul lists five things which follow from being filled with the Spirit: speaking, singing, making music, giving thanks, and submitting to each other – all things that contribute to our being truly one body in Christ.
And if you look more closely at the five -ing words in Ephesians, they are all about our Lord Jesus Christ.
And so we “always give thanks to the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.” Eph 5:20
