There aren’t enough £s in my pocket. I find. And so much I could do if only I had more.
It may be frustrating, but I wonder if lack of time and money is not so much a problem as a reason to focus, to consider, to choose? Not everything is important, but some things are. Not everything is for me to do, but some things are.
As Mr Micawber reminded David Copperfield, the difference between happiness and misery is a single shilling in twenty pounds. It’s not what we don’t have (time, talents, opportunity, money) but what we do with what we do have that counts.
Governments, Organisations, Families, and me, and you, we all must choose.
But how? Shall I look out for myself, my family, my friends, my tribe? Should I seek to disrupt where (I say) others are doing bad things? Perhaps I could encourage instead, and give something of myself as well – a sacrifice, because it’s not about me.
What did Jesus say? “I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” (John 10:10); and what did Jesus do?
