Sometimes life gives you no choice: you have to, whether you want to or not. You don’t choose your parents, or whether it will rain on your birthday.
But there are also times when you do get to choose. You choose your husband/wife, you choose whether to give money to this cause or that.
Sometimes we make decisions quickly – fire off that email, pull up that weed; and sometimes we dither – what shall we wear, what shall we eat?
And sometimes we need a nudge (or a kick) to push us into action – the time deadline, or a persuasive voice.
As in life, so spiritually: choosing to follow Christ is your decision, choosing how you will follow Christ is also your decision.
“We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God.” 2 Cor 5:20
