When Solomon was crowned king of Israel, God offered him a gift, he chose wisdom and God have him more than he asked for.
When, 70 years ago, Elizabeth was crowned Queen, she promised to serve the people of this nation and the commonwealth for the rest of her life, and God has granted her a long life and the wisdom to reign well.
Today is Pentecost, the day we recall the Holy Spirit endowing gifts on the first disciples. Gifts that enabled them to speak about Jesus, as they>gave their lives to his service.
I wonder what would happen if we started asking God for gifts to bring the Gospel to the people of our day, in our parish.
