The idea of an Elevator Pitch is that you have the length of an elevator ride to explain what is important. It’s quite hard to do if you aren’t prepared, and one of the benefits of preparing is that you get to sift what is the essential heart of what you want to say, and what is just useful (and even interesting) other stuff which you can leave to another time.
So what would be your elevator pitch for the Gospel?
We’re looking at Ephesians 2:1-10 this week, and I think this is quite close to what would be Paul’s elevator pitch for the Gospel – it has all the essential elements: sin, forgiveness, grace, faith, and of course the central figure of Jesus himself.
