What does the Trinity mean for our relationship with God? Many of us may be tempted to think that the answer is ‘not a lot’. But the more you look for it, the more you find things that point to the Trinity everywhere in Christian spirituality. Why does the prayer Jesus taught us begin with ‘our Father in heaven’? Why is it the Son who the Bible calls the Word of God? Why do we call godly character qualities the fruit of the Spirit?
This Sunday, we’re looking at the Grace, a classic Christian prayer, drawn from the Scriptures (2 Cor 13:14), that is clearly Trinity shaped. As we look at what it has to say about our relationship with the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, we’ll see that, whether we noticed it or not, our relationship with God has been Trinity shaped all along.
