If God wanted to speak to you, how would he do it?

Psalm 19 talks about the heavens and skies proclaiming God’s glory and what he has made – which is a message we should take note of. The Psalm goes on to talk about the scriptures, how they refresh the soul, and bring wisdom and joy and light.

So maybe I shouldn’t hypothesis ‘if God wanted to’ but rather say that ‘God does want to speak to you’, and he has done it through creation and as well as through the scripture – His Word – and through the Word made flesh – Jesus Christ.

So we can look at the heavens and hear the proclamation of God’s glory, and look at creation and see God’s hand at work.

And if we want to live how God wants us to, the place we start is with the scriptures – which lead us to Jesus. As Paul reminded Timothy, the scriptures are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Jesus Christ. (2 Tim 3:15)

But maybe you are afraid to hear God speaking, maybe you would rather not hear what he wants to say. Which would be a shame, because the big thing that God wants us to hear is about his love for us.

Someone once told me that the Bible can be summarised in 5 words: God says “I love you”.
