One of the first things the Bishop said at my ordination was taken from 1 Peter 2:9; ‘But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.‘
It’s a reminder of the astonishing privilege it is to belong to and to serve at Shaw Church. In the routine of Sunday to Sunday, it can be easy to forget the amazing dignity God has given us and how – despite all our weaknesses and failures – God has still put us at the heart of his plans for Shaw cum Donnington. It’s only fitting that our mission should be to praise his undeserved kindness in as many ways and to as many people as we can.
